Samsung SGH-i400


At the S60 Summit in Madrid, Samsung unveiled its latest Symbian OS based smartphone, the Samsung SGH-i400. Available in a slim design, the phone runs one of the most advanced phone operating systems with multitasking abilities and a wide range of applications.

Available in a slider design, the i400 is equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, music keys and stereo speakers. A wide 2.3" QVGA display (262k colors) is fitted onto the phone. For added memory, it can take in microSD memory cards up to 4GB.

Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP - advanced audio distribution profile) is available, as well as a USB 2.0 interface for quick downloads of media and documents. Compatible with GPRS/EDGE networks, the phone weighs just 92 grams.

The Samsung SCH-i400 will initially be launched in Russia by June 2007 and will follow other European markets soon. No word on the pricing yet, though.

Nokia will be coming out with a new high-speed HSDPA mobile handset, which offers an enhanced mobile experience through faster browsing, streaming music , streaming video email, and internet. The Nokia 6120 is another handset offered which is based on S60 software running on a Symbian OS. The handset is very efficient and allows for multiple applications running at the same time. The 6120 keeps it simple and allows tasks to be completed quickly and efficiently with the high speed data access available.

Additionally, available for use with the 6120 is a High Speed Downlink Packet Access, which offers ten times faster connection. The compact Nokia 6120 classic phone makes tasks faster and easier by utilizing HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access), an evolutionary technology offering downloads up to 10 times faster than over usual WCDMA networks. A Data Transfer application is also available that makes PC synchronization easy, it can even be used without the presence of a sim card.

The 6120 Classic will be expected to begin shipping sometime during the second quarter of 2007 for roughly €260.

Nokia 5700 XpressMusic


Nokia reveals yet another great mobile phone with the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic. This 3G smartphone provides an audio chip devoted for enhanced music performance. It features a unique rotating design, which easily switches between four modes with just a simple twist. The four modes available are a music player, 2 Megapixel camera, video call and smartphone.

Being a music phone, the Nokia XpressMusic supports up to 1500 songs using a removable 2GB microSD card. You can either transfer and listen your songs to your microSD card, or download tracks from internet music stores over an extremely fast 3G connection. Enjoy your music all to yourself with a Bluetooth stereo headset or even standard 3.5mm plug-in headphones. File formats supported include WMA, MP3, AAC, eAAC+, and MP4. The phone also supports album art, playists, and includes a 5-band equalizer and audio visualization.

Not only just a music device, the Nokia 5700 XpressMusic provides exceptional video playback on its vibrant color display. With the 3G data cababilites downloading and streaming multimedia content is a breeze.

The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic running off of S60 Symbian OS software is expected to available during the second quarter of 2007 at an estimated retail price of $470 (EUR 350).
